December update ... so far

I spent the weekend at the beginning of the month with 2 friends and our 9 children staying at Coffin Bay and scrapbooking (for me) and patchworking (for them).

The weather was beautiful and the kids had lots of fun.

The Christmas tree finally went up at home ...

Hannah is getting very excited about Christmas ...

I found this idea at Pintrest and made them for Hannah's class party. The trick I found was using the right icing ... royal icing worked well.  I used this recipe from taste.com. The cupcake recipe I used was also from taste.com.

The red "hat" is actually jelly crystals, then a red M & M for the nose, white choc bits and the coarser shredded coconut for the beard.

And this for the eyes ...

Last night was the "Traders Night" or Christmas parade / festival in our local town ...

Doesn't Hannah face painting look amazing?

And now a couple of nights with the kids at the shack while John tries to get the harvest finished.

D'Lish Summer Creative team - December Inspiration Board

I have been lucky enough to have my Spring term at D'Lish Scraps extended for the Summer :-)

Here is the Inspiration Board for December ... yummy hey!!

And here is my layout ...

From D'Lish Scraps I used ...

I found the gold and white striped straw in a pack at Typo ... love that shop :-)

I coloured the wood chip stars with a Uniball Paint Marker in gold ... remember those gold pens that you shake and press down on to start the ink? Fun and easy and worked really well n the wood chips.

I cut the flourish so I could place a piece either side of my photo.

I had my photo printed through Origrami ... fast service and groovy photos present in a cute little box :-)

D'Lish Spring Creative Team

The November Board ...

and my layout ...

I used the sketch as my main inspiration but rather than using a patterned paper for the centre back paper I created a rectangle with red sequins. I adhered them with glue dots.

Products from D'Lish ...

Anchor charms
Skipping 5 Puffy Arrows
Skipping 5 Puffy Anchors
Red sequins

Join in and try the sketch this month over at D'Lish :-)

Our trip to Sydney ...

We recently spent a week in Sydney with our 4 children. We had a great trip :-)

This was the view from our apartment ...

We were very lucky to have the Fleet Review occurring during our visit and got to see fire works from our apartment as well as the many navy ships and tall ships in the harbour. There were also aerial displays over the week were were there.

We took quite a few ferry trips on the harbour.

We visited my aunty and uncle and caught up with my cousin and his wife, for lunch.

We took a train trip to Katoomba / the Blue Mountains. We few very lucky to have been able to visit since the terrible bush fires began after we got home.

Some very serious ferry men ;-)

Bondi was visited and the kids had a swim at the Iceberg baths ...

The last night we were there we visited Luna Park ...

The dodgems were a favourite ... we went on three times :-)

D'Lish Scraps {Spring Creative Team} ...

So we had another great creative board this month ...

I loved the sketch and the bright colours against the black cake.

I started with some Studio Calico neon mists and a mask and paint brush and created my background.

Then I  flicked a bit of the mist around .

I used

- the beautiful Freckled Fawn Enamel Dots

Motex neon  tape in
- hot pink
and
- yellow

- third Flair from last months set

Head over to the D'Lish blog for more details :-)

D'Lish {Spring Creative Team} share ...

I was lucky enough to gain a spot on the D'Lish Spring Creative Team :-)

Here is our September Challenge ... Citrus Breeze :-)

And here is my layout ...

I misted the doilies with Mr Huey Lemonade.

The banners were made by adhering washi tape to a piece of vellum.

The Motex tape writer is great for journaling and you can get lots of different colour tapes at D'Lish Scraps ... head over for a look :-)

For my layout I shopped at D'Lish Scraps for the following ...

Lime retro dot washi tape
Freckled Fawn Ombre Yellow Enamel Dew Drops
A paper doily - one 16cm and one 20cm
Two of the Lemon Monochrome patterns flair
Two of the Bright frosted resin roses

Motex machine for my journaling ... I used a blue Dymo tape in it.

Head over to D'Lish  Scraps and check out the fantastic range of goodies :-)

I experimented with watercolouring ... unfortunately my 12  x 12 white cardstock that I was going to initially use as my background  had to be trimmed because I had a mistake when I tried to add some paint creativity!! LOL!
